​​During the 2025–2026 academic year, I was honored to be selected as the recipient of two competitive scholarships recognizing academic achievement and commitment to the fields of journalism, media, and communications at Minnesota State University Moorhead: the Marcil Center for Journalism Scholarship and the Howard Binford Journalism Scholarship.

Marcil Center for Journalism Scholarship

The Marcil Center for Journalism Scholarship is designed to attract and retain students pursuing careers in the journalism and media industry. As a recipient, I have been awarded a total of $1,500, disbursed equally across the Fall and Spring semesters, with $750 awarded each term.

Howard Binford Journalism Scholarship

The Howard Binford Journalism Scholarship supports students majoring in Mass Communications with a focus on journalism. I am grateful to receive $1,100, divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters, with $550 awarded each term.

These scholarships not only alleviate the financial burden of my education but also motivate me to excel in my studies and pursue a career in journalism. I am committed to upholding the values associated with these awards by actively engaging in opportunities that enhance my journalistic skills and contribute to the MSUM community.
